From the excerpt, it appears to be partly a depiction of Notopoulos’s work and partly a record of Nikoletta Dimitriou’s research using archival material.
It isn’t clear (or maybe I just didn’t understand) where we’ll see him.

(In the bit where the subtitles say “βοσκίστικος”, didn’t the man say “βοσκίσιμος”?)
The subtitles seem to be in Standard Modern Greek to me; for example, the creatures have become people.
The first screening will take place on Monday, 28 September 2026, at 19:00, at the Main Stage of the Nicosia Municipal Theatre, with English subtitles. A reception will follow.
It may be shown at relevant festivals in Greece in the future.
Who is/was Antonis Gioupas with the pithkiaúli (πιθκιαύλι)? I don’t have Notopoulos’s files to hand at the moment, but I don’t think I’ve seen this name in his records, nor do I recall anyone being described as a “former shepherd”. In any case, the actual person who appears after the name is announced is Andreas Christakkos, who plays an incredible, 100% traditional pithkiaúli (πιθκιαύλι).
Well, I listened to tape number 107 here: Notopoulos Recordings - Milman Parry Collection of Oral Literature . The wording is almost identical, and in the recording they also mention his age. The Excel spreadsheet is a complete mess, though: they make mistakes in names (Kamilos, Xiris, etc.), spelling, and transliteration into the Latin alphabet — it’s all over the place.
