Good evening,
I live in Germany and want to travel to Greece with my bouzouki (without a car).
It cost quite a lot of money, so I was wondering whether any of you have been in a similar situation and, if so, which was the safest way you chose to transport it. Thank you in advance.
Good evening,
I think the most suitable way is to send it with one of the buses that provide transport services. At least, that’s what my instrument maker recommended, and that’s what many people here in Sweden do.
Another option, if you take it on the plane as luggage, is to wrap it very well in bubble wrap after lowering the tuning by two whole tones. That’s what I did with the new one, and it arrived perfectly fine. Many airlines let you take it into the cabin if you buy it a ticket. The courier services I checked from Greece to Sweden wanted around €450…

Good evening,
Thank you very much for your reply. Personally, I think travelling by bus is the best option.
And, as I understand it, I don’t need to wrap it.
