Let me add Vangelis Boudounis, the classical soloist, as well. Yesterday the Forum brought a topic back up and, lo and behold:

the man in question is generally lifeless in his playing, and he has this mania for transcribing various genres for classical guitar (e.g. the Beatles), as well as having several guitars play together. Does that remind you of something involving five hundred bouzoukis? Where quality is lacking, quantity abounds…

the Ungrateful One doesn’t sound right; he has drained it of all vitality and hasn’t even included the gorgeous two-part harmonies of Stellaki–Georgakopoulou!
on the other hand, Gül Bahar was a pleasant surprise; the rhythmic part (the bass pattern) was noteworthy. The whole piece sounded like Spanish classical guitar music, as though the influence of Arabic music from the east (Greece–Tsitsanis) had met the influence from the west (Spain–Albéniz).

generally, I don’t like classical guitar (let alone transcribed works, thus adapted in that direction), but despite my dislike I won’t pass up something good, such as Elena Papandreou!
