I am a 30 y.o. lover and performer of rebetika and demotika, who lives in Melbourne, Australia. I play; violin, six-string bouzouki, laouto and tsimbus. Our band ‘Rebetiki’ (formally Apodimi Compania), has been performing every Sunday night at the Retreat Hotel, Sydney Rd. Brunswick, since 1989. My favorite performers are; Markos, Yiovan Tsaous, Stratos Payoumitsis, Dalkas, Kavouras, Rita Abatzi, Roza Eshkenazi, Costas Karipis, Nouros, Skarveli, Tountas and more. I particularly enjoy the violin work of the masterful, Vassilis Semsis and Ogthondakis. I hope to hear from some of you soon.
